Use of Personal Information
MoDoc AI collects personal information for two primary purposes:
Creating Aggregated Parenting Trends:
MoDoc AI uses parenting, family, and child health information to help identify common challenges and trends among families. In particular, we use the information you share to generate aggregated trends—such as common parenting concerns or shifts in child development topics—which help us understand where and when certain issues may be more prevalent. We also use de-identified information for internal analysis and evaluation purposes aimed at understanding parenting needs and improving the accuracy and reliability of our AI-powered advice.
Content Creation via Anonymized Data:
We may process your consultation records (including prompts and conversation logs) to create educational and informational content (e.g., blog posts, videos, social media updates) for the broader community. Before any such use, all personally identifiable information—including names, specific ages, precise locations, and identifiable medical history—is strictly and permanently removed or altered (anonymized and pseudonymized) so that neither you nor your child can be identified. Due to the universal nature of medical symptoms and parenting situations, our anonymized content may occasionally bear coincidental resemblance to your specific experience; this does not indicate a privacy breach. You have the right to opt out of having your data used for these content creation purposes at any time by contacting us at contact@modoc-ai.com.
Personalizing Your MoDoc AI Experience:
In our Services, you can enter or share personal information (e.g., parenting concerns, child development milestones, your name, age, gender, location) in order to keep a record of your family's journey and receive tailored parenting guidance, tips, and resources. You can also create an account by entering your email address or user identifier, which allows you to access your data on multiple devices or in the event your device is lost or stolen.
We may send you communications through push notifications, email, and SMS relating to our products and Services. You may opt-out of such notifications by changing the settings in the Services or on your device, or otherwise by contacting us as set forth below. In particular, you can opt-out from receiving marketing-related emails by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each email. If you can sign-in to your MoDoc AI account, you may be able to change your preferences under the relevant section of the Services.
Additionally, we may use personal information from or about you:
- To provide you the Services, respond to your inquiries, and fulfill your requests;
- In a de-identified form, in combination with other de-identified data collected from third parties (e.g., OWID, CDC, OpenAI, Anthropic) for internal analysis and evaluation purposes aimed at understanding parenting trends and improving the accuracy and reliability of our AI-powered guidance;
- To send you important information regarding our relationship with you or regarding our Services, changes to our Terms of Use and policies and/or other administrative information; and
- For our internal business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, research, developing new products or services, improving our Services, identifying Services usage trends, and determining the effectiveness of our Services.
- For enhancing our AI capabilities: We may send user information—such as a child's name, birthday, temperature, any pulse reading and estimated temperature range you have saved, sleep records, feeding records, and other narrative details—to trusted third-party APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) for processing and generating AI-powered guidance, subject to applicable privacy and security measures.

We take reasonable steps to prevent these parties from personally identifying the source of such data.

Camera-Based Pulse Measurement and Diagnostic Data
The App includes a feature that estimates a child's pulse using your phone's rear camera and its light, and can estimate a temperature range from that pulse. To do this, the App accesses the camera and the camera light for the duration of the measurement and analyses the frames it captures.
The reading itself. Taking a measurement does not by itself add anything to your child's record. If you choose to save a reading to the timeline, it is stored with your account and your child's profile like any other entry, and you can view, correct or delete it in the same way.
The diagnostic copy. Separately, and automatically, the App sends us diagnostic information about how the measurement went: colour and signal statistics derived from the camera frames, the resulting heart-rate estimate and how it was reached, and your device model, operating system and app version. On iOS, the camera video recorded during the measurement is also sent; on Android, no video is collected. We use this only to work out why measurements fail, which is how the feature becomes more accurate.
Because recording begins just before the lens meets the skin and ends just after it leaves, a measurement video may briefly capture whatever the camera happened to be pointed at in those moments, including your surroundings. We do not use those frames for anything other than diagnosing the measurement, and they are deleted on the same schedule as the rest of the video.
How the diagnostic copy is identified. It is keyed only by a random identifier that the App generates on your device. That identifier is not your account, and it resets if the App is reinstalled. The diagnostic copy is not linked to your account, your name, your contact details, or your child's profile.
Where it is stored. Over an encrypted connection to Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), operated by Google LLC, on servers in the United States. We do not share it with any third party, and we do not send it to the third-party AI providers described elsewhere in this policy.
How long we keep it. Each measurement video is deleted automatically about 90 days after it is collected. Signal and diagnostic data is deleted automatically about 365 days after it is collected.
What you can and cannot ask us to do. The App tells you about this collection the first time you use the measurement feature. You can delete any reading you saved to the timeline. The diagnostic copy is different: because it carries no identifier that points back to you, we cannot locate the records belonging to a particular person or child, so a deletion request cannot be honoured for it. If you do not want diagnostic data collected, do not use the measurement feature. We can also switch this collection off remotely for all users, and we do so if a problem arises.
Your Preferences
Our App may ask you to share your location information with MoDoc AI. Note that this is the location reported from your phone's operating system and typically utilizes your phone's GPS system. You may be able to opt out of sharing your phone's location services by changing the settings on your phone.
The first time you use the pulse measurement feature, the App shows you a notice describing the diagnostic data it collects. You can dismiss that notice, and you can stop the collection at any time by not using the measurement feature. As explained in "Camera-Based Pulse Measurement and Diagnostic Data," we are able to delete readings you saved to your child's timeline, but not the anonymous diagnostic copy.
If you do not want to receive communications from MoDoc AI, you may opt out of further communications at any time. To do so, please follow these instructions:
- Email: Click the unsubscribe link provided in each marketing email.
- Push Notifications: Adjust your notification settings within the App.
Please note that MoDoc AI can comply with only those requests relating to communications provided by MoDoc AI. We will seek to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable.
If applicable, and you would like to review, correct, update, or delete certain personal information that you have provided via the Services, please contact us at contact@modoc-ai.com. We will seek to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
